I was unable to sign into my Apple account on my mac. The password would not work. So I reset my password on my phone, reset my computer and tried again—still didn’t work. I have tried several more times with no luck. I had no issue resetting on my ipad. It is only my mac. Help?

Seems it can take awhile (up to 24 hours) for a changed Apple Account password to appear everywhere it is in use. (FaceTime, Messages, iCloud, App Store, and more, also devices, computers, etc)

If needed, and you haven't tried it already: Try restarting your Mac Eg: Apple menu > Restart
(ie: deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes etc, and often restores order if something is not working as expected.) Once Mac restarts, log-in and check again.
Thank you for your insight! I did wait 48 hours, rebooted my mac again—and this time I am getting this error:
There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server
i have checked and I am connected to the wifi—but don’t seem to be able to open any webpages. My computer clock is also 12 hours behind 🤷♀️
any advice would be appreciated!!
