Text Highlight Color Too Dark in Preview

I just updated to Tahoe 26.0.1. Now in Preview, when I try to copy text from a pdf, the highlighted text is too dark to read. I cannot seem to find a way to change the highlighting color or to make it less opaque. Highlighting text in other apps show in the correct color that I chose in System Settings. How do I fix this?

I did change the highlight color, but it didn't work. However, I did discover that the problem only occurs when Appearance is Dark. I have changed it to Light instead of Auto, and that has solved my problem. This may be a bug in Tahoe 26.

Sorry, only know did I realized that this was related to "Dark Appearance", as set in Preview.

FWIW, I wonder if this is working as Apple designed it to work.

Here is an example of what I see in "light" appearance:

And here is the same area of the pdf, after changing to dark:

The items are still highlighted, but the highlight is applied directly to the characters, rather than the background.

Feel free to report this to feedback, but to me it looks fine.
