Why is Mirroring bedevilled by multiple lock and unlock commands/

I find it so difficult to start Mirroring. I lock the phone then I am told to unlock it and then lock it and unlock it. Today, eventually the Keypad appeared on the phone and I entered my passcode and Mirroring worked. Is it that I should just wait for five minutes for Mirroring to start as that is the sort of time it takes?

Sequoia and iPhone mirroring problems. My Iphone mirroring quit working today. When I launch it on my MacBook Pro, it tells me to lock my phone before I can connect. So I lock my phone, then the pop-up tells me to unlock my phone and follow the instructions on my phone...then the Mac screen pops back to the screen that says I need to lock my phone before I can proceed. And..oh by the way, there was nothing on my iPhone screen "to follow" as prescribed. I'm really confused. It was working great the last time I used it.

iPhone Mirroring pauses connection after 5 minutes I run iPhone Mirroring to show my iPhone 14 Pro (iOS 18) on my M1 MacBook Pro (Sequoia) desktop. If I don't interact with the iPhone Mirroring app, it pauses the connection after 5 minutes (see attached image). The phone is set to auto-lock after 1 minute, but it's already locked when I connect iPhone Mirroring. So I don't think that's causing the pause. Is there a way to convince iPhone Mirroring not to pause? If not, is there a way to increase the timeout?

What device are you mirroring to, Apple TV, Smart TV or what exactly?
