Installed Tahoe last night. Now when I use Mac mail, I constantly get a ghost pop-up message. Cannot be closed by clicking the X in the upper left-hand corner. And completely blank. No entries for address C, subject line, etc. Anyone elase seeing this? Screenshot attached.

It almost looks like you are composing a email. That blue circle in the upper right hand corner is where Apple has put the send email button in Mail in Tahoe. If you can address it to yourself you might be able to get rid of it.
I would also run a Safe Mode on your Mac

Thanks -- to clarify, yes it looks exactly like I'm composing an email, even though I never typed that command. And as I mentioned there is no subject line or addressee line or line to CC someone. and the send button and close button are inoperative -- as is the entire window. You can't type in the message field. No commands work on it. All you can do is hide it in the background.
