Issues with brand new IPhone 17 Pro

1.) Flash light comes on all by itself. Went to where I bought it, they claimed I’m touching something. Not so, it comes on while on my charging stand. While sitting on end table with no one touching it. It comes on while texting. Went to the Apple Store where they ran diagnostics on it. Nothing wrong and claimed it was the case. Told me to try it without case and it did it on the way home in the stand with no one touching it.

2.) I put phone on silent and make sure volume is turned down. After texting someone the phone makes a funny sound. A red message is in the reply field. When I close it it turns black with an X to clear it.

3.) I was in a very important meeting. Set the phone on silent and set it down. It wasn’t long and it made a beep type sound. Picked it up and silent mode was turned off. Absolutely positive I put it on silent.

I have been to the place I bought it they had no answers. Sent me to Apple Store they had no suggestions. I called apple support who again ran a diagnostics on it and said it was fine. This phone is less than a week old when all this started. Needless to say I’m very frustrated. I was told a new phone is being shipped to my house. Nothing yet.

Was going to ask why not have them exchange it for a new one since you should be in the return/exchange period (varies but is usually at least 14 days). It sounds like whatever is going on isn’t something you could replicate while having them look at it so exchanging would be best. Contact whoever is supposed to be sending the replacement (I assume whatever retailer you initially purchased from if this is a true exchange. If it’s from Apple it sounds like it might be a replacement under warranty) to get proof of replacement being ordered. You want to make sure before the exchange/return period passes just so your option to return completely is still available if you so choose
