brightness not going down since iOS 26

ever since I’ve upgraded to iOS 26, my brightness slider doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter whether I’m on day or night mode, night shift or normal, True Tone on or off etc. my brightness WILL NOT DIM.

back on the old software it would make your screen really dark which is heaven sent at night, but now whether it’s max or minimum it just changed the colour tone more than anything. The lowest brightness is actually lighter than the mid range?

please let me know if I’m missing something, or better yet - fix it.
