Messages not working on Mac since upgrading to macOS Tahoe Version 26.0.1

Yesterday I upgraded to Tahoe Version 26.0.1 and now my iPhone messages are not syncing on from my Mac to my phone. Is there something I need to address to fix this?

Mine started after loading Tahoe 26.2. I had a friend group message thread and some were non-iPhone users. After installing 26.2, messages sent from the MacBook would not go through as SMS (instant "not delivered" notification) but on the iPhone I was receiving fine and had no issue sending or receiving. I made sure Apps/Messages/Text Message Forwarding had my Macbook toggled ON the I went to Apps/Messages/RCS Messaging and toggled that OFF. Works like a champ (for) now.

I recently commented that the Messages issue was NOT fixed since upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26.1 release. I can also now state that the problem also is NOT resolved in version 26.2. The problem occurs erratically. You'll be typing a new message or responding to a recipient, everything is going fine until you hit send. It's like the send key is missing; nothing happens. If you cancel the new message and attempt to re-enter and send, it will continue to fail when send is depressed. You have to close out Messages completely and restart the application, sometimes a complete reboot of the OS is required to get Messages operating properly, until the next time the problem occurs which could be a day or three later.

26.3 has not resolved it for me... on iMac with M4 chip bought about 10 months ago. I still have a lot of latency of texts that beep the iPhone next to the iMac but which either delays sending the texts to the iMac ... or does not send them at all... until I quite Messages and restart... OR if I send a message to that person who is texting me, when my text goes out their delayed text comes in. I have fast cable internet from Comcast. I've tried everything!

I have experienced the same issue and have tried a number of things that typically fix this kind of problem but have failed to work in this instance. Also, I am currently unable to send regular "green" text messages using my laptop, although I am able to do this on my iPhone. Either Apple has a behind-the-scenes problem or there's a bug in the 26.0.1 update. If the former is the case, I would guess/hope it will be fixed in the next day or two. If the latter is the case, we can expect a 26.0.2 update...sometime.

I'm running Tahoe 26.1 on my Macbook M-1 Pro and still having this issue with Messages not working. In the past, I could quit messages, restart it and it would work until the next failure. Rinse and repeat to get it going again. Now that I'm on 26.1, restarting doesn't get me running any longer. I have to revert to my iPhone to text. I use Apple products because they integrated with each other seamlessly. That no longer appears to be the case. IMHO, Apple quality and reliability has degraded substantially over the years.

After upgrade to Tahoe 26.2, the Messages app is still not working properly. Messages was failing to start up properly in Tahoe 26.1. Mac OS would show that it was running, but no window for the app would ever open. Rebooting, disconnecting peripherals, rebooting in safe mode, running diagnostics — nothing helped. And nothing is helping since the OS upgrade. If Apple runs true to form, it will not acknowledge any issue of any kind.

Well I'm not in the apple eco system, but I have an M2 studio ultra and using iMessage. I have an issue where messages are not received, but it's weird. It almost varies by contact. One contact is instant and fine. Another only shows if I open their thread (no preview) and the other only pulls messages if I send.. I'm running Tahoe (most recent OS). I've contacted apple support and they're flummoxed by it. Done all the syncs, reset the messages folder in system. The works and it is still the same. It has been happening over the past few weeks.
