Yahoo Mail notifications not clearing

yahoo mail notifications do not clear the notification center after reading emails. I have troubleshooted in all ways even uninstalling the app and the notifications stay until I manually clear them. This was an issue on my iPhone 13 and still an issue on my 17. Very frustrating hopefully there is a fix for this soon.
