Water-damaged iPhone 11 Pro Max with non-responsive Face ID and unresponsive screen

I think my phone took some water while in my pocket on a rainy day. Face ID stopped working thereafter and locked most apps that I open using Face ID. I reset the phone to factory settings, but it won't work. My second problem now is that the top screen does not respond to touch. Also the screen keeps swiping up-down and left-right at will. I tried several force restarts, but it won't fix it. I connected the iPhone to my Mac in an attempt to perform a factory reset, but the system kept displaying the message, “There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone ‘xxxxx iPhone.’” The requested resource was not found.

Any help to get around these issues, please?

You need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.
