Expanding highlighted email to full screen on iPad after iPadOS 26.0.1 update

I updated my 9th generation iPad to iOS26.0.1.My email comes up with two columns, on the left column is a list of all emails and on the right is a single highlighted email. How do I expand the email to full screen?

To open the email message in a full-screen window, touch-and-hold (i.e. a long touch) the email message in the left column; this will open an action menu. From the menu, select Open in New Window.

When the new window opens, tap the traffic-light icon at top-left of the window, then tap the green button.
