My son’s iPhone 12 isn’t blocking apps during downtime despite "Block at Downtime" being enabled

Hi there

my sons iphone 12 is supposed to be blocked at down time, I have toggled on "block at downtime" child will be able to request more time.

Except it is not working, his downtime starts and he is able to ignore it, without a password.

His old phone worked fine, but when we upgraded a month ago this started.

I have time limits set and block at downtime toggled. (I have restarted his phone)

Screen Time Not Working:

ScreenTime is a feature of the iOS —not a hardware feature. And, there are plenty of bugs reported on these forums (ScreenTime being just one of many for iOS26).

Report this as a Bug to Apple:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.
