I got emails stating my icloud account would be locked if I didn't respond, or something like that, I don't remember. I thought it was a scam so I deleted each time I got that email. I didn't remember having an icloud account since I'm an Android user but I do have two iPods.
Most every email you get claiming your account will be locked if you do not respond is a scam. Post a screenshot of the email if you are able to restore it from your mail providers server. Usually they are not immediately removed.
