Transparent text on dark background on Lock Screen notifications on iOS 26

What is going on with lock screen notifications in ios 26? The new update changed the theme of the phone from light mode - something I selected, and set up and had to 10 years - to a mixture of what appears to be transparent or dark mode. The issue is I can not see the transparent text. This is specifically terrible on the lock screen. As text from app notifications comes in clear over a darker background. I've tried reducing transparency, besides making the screen flicker more at times, it does nothing in the way of making font more visible. I tried to change to a variation of stock apple wallpaper, which is what I used anyway, to make text stand out and it does nothing. Yes, I spoke to the higher level "apple engineers" they seem to be clueless. And I have been submitting bug reports for the past week. Nothing. What do I do with a phone I can't use anymore?
