After i downloaded IOS 26.0.1 on my 16 pro max my mi band 8 stopped connecting to my phone using bluetooth. However, before updating it was working without issues.

That’s a great question for Xiaomi tech support.
Start by forgetting it, resetting the bracelet to factory settings, forgetting it in Settings/Bluetooth and re-pairing it.
And perhaps a long shot:
Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.
