Hide my email half-activated without iCloud+

Since a while now I’ve gotten the option to use the hide my email function when creating a new account on websites through my iPhone. I do not have nor have I ever had iCloud+.

Now I’m in a situation where a webshop has given the shipping company my hidden apple email address, and I don’t seem to be receiving any of the emails they are trying to send me. I’ve checked the junk mail on all accounts associated with my apple account.

when I log in to iCloud to try to manage the hide my email function, it does not appear as an option at all. Instead the menu tries to sell me iCloud plus in order to activate the function.

i dont really want to subscribe just to be able to access my settings to check where the emails from the shipping company might be ending up.

anyone got any advice on where these emails might be going and how I might access the lost emails? Or am I just SOL?
