Delayed Gmail sent items in Apple Mail on iPhone 17

I have Gmail accounts, some paid and some free. I have an iPhone 17 brand new with all the latest OS patches installed. I use the apple’s native mail client. On previous phones and this one it takes at least five minutes for sent Maile to show up even though in Google it’s instant. Is there something wrong with Apple‘s email client? Is this Google being stubborn about integrating with Apple? Has anybody fix this issue because it’s pretty annoying when you need to see a sent message and make sure it went or confirm that there wasn’t an error in it.
