After installing iOS 26.0.1, unresponsive screen touch with iPhone 13 Pro Max. Unable to operate

unresponsive screen touch with my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

It was working fine without any screen damage or water damage before iOS upgrade.

it was intermittently unresponsive then, now not responding to any screen touch.

I tried hard reboot, clean the screen, removed screen protection, but no luck.

Anyone having similar issue with latest iOS 26.0.1?

If you have any solutions, it will be greatly appreciated.

Same here on iPhone 11. Everything worked perfectly fine until the update from iOS 18.x to 26. Now I can't even pick up calls because touch input isn't working.

And what is your Battery Health at Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Maximum Capacity? If it is below 80% it needs to be replaced. Ignoring the Service recommendation you would see in Settings for this may result in the Battery swelling and pushing against the screen affecting touch events.

It would be very unusual for an original battery on an iPhone 11 to be operating normally. The replacement should only be done by Apple or Authorized Apple Service Provider. For those that used another third party for battery replacement or purchased a used device where it may have been replaced by a non-genuine battery have experienced problems with their device.

Downgrading the OS version has never been supported by Apple and to be fair, it is not supported on Android devices either. Those that tried have ended up with bricked phones that are no longer usable.

I tried downgrading back to iOS 18 but apparently Apple doesn't allow downgrading. I call that planned obsolescence.

If I don't get this resolved, I'm happily and finally done with Apple.

Not planned obsolescence, returning to 18 would not help, if forced restart does not help then your phone screen is probably busy. Stuff happens on 6 year old old phones.

(BTW iphones last 2x longer than most androids )
