Factory reset MacBook Air brings up unknown iCloud account

So I factory reset my *used* MacBook after some stuff wasn't working, and now I’m trying to set it back up, but it’s bringing me back to an iCloud account that isn’t mine and I do not know what to do or how to fix it..

(I had it attached to MY account but now it no longer is)

That means the previous owner never removed the activation lock from their Apple Account. That’s always a huge risk when buying a used Apple device.

If you still have contact with them, ask them to remove the Mac from their devices in the Find My app, or https://icloud.com/find.
