Missing iPad Air after purchase at Apple Store in Woodland Hills Mall

So I went to the Apple Store located in the Woodland Hills Mall and bought a 11 inch Apple IPad Air WiFi 256 GB. Well I don’t believe that it was giving to me because I changed my mind a couple of times and they had to put it back twice and then on the 3rd. time I bought it. I also bought a keyboard and a pencil pro And the Apple care plus protection. I called the store and got the run around. Called corporate support and they helped me and got ahold of the store, which told APL that this was the first time that they had heard about this problem!😡, Then that lead into them (the mall store) telling me that I had to call Apple care protection plus to file a claim because there was nothing that they could do. I asked the mall store if they would check their inventory to make sure they gave it to me and they said they did. Which they didn’t! I’m 74 years old and would never go through all this to get over on them. I spent $1,190.43 and walked away with a terrible headache after realizing that they had forgotten to give me a iPad Air 11 inch I told them that I thought the iPad was in the box with the keyboard. Because it is heavy. Mind you that I had just brought back a new Mac laptop 16 in. Due to the fact that it was too heavy.. please some one help I don’t know what else to do.. The protection plan care plus said that they can’t file a claim on it due to the fact that it was never registered to me. When I asked the Apple advisor that it will it be added to my Apple account and he said yes as soon as he scanned it and I paid for it then it would show on my account. But it don’t. Like I said please help I don’t know what else to do. Thanks in advance for all your support and input on my issues with this situation.t

All I can suggest is to contact Apple here. It is correct that you cannot file a Theft & Lost claim until the device has been set up and Find My turned on. That is not done when it is purchased. The purchase would show on your Apple Account if the correct email address was added at time of purchase, but you are not required to include one. The last couple of times I made a purchase in the Apple Store, I had to enter my email address into their device so they were not responsible if it had been entered incorrectly.

Actually they entered it for me, which was fine by me and I guess it was because of my age. But I know they put it in right because he repeated it back to me. So your saying that I can get ahold Apple ? And they will help me ? Who is it that I can contact with Apple? Like what number and who do I ask for? I apologize if I am full of questions but I don’t know what to do. Thank you for your help and time and effort in taking time out of your day to help me with this matter. I appreciate you for doing so. This old man needs all the help I can get on this situation.
