Automation on Apple Watch to set flight mode at a schedule time

I was trying to set up an automation on the ultra 3 to set the airplane mode on at 8pm so when I sleep my brain does not get fried by the watch and I save battery. Although it looks that I can create a short cut on the iphone and set the show in watch on , it does not really work. Where would be the issue to be able to do that?
