Difficulty sending pictures and typing a message on iPad text screen

I am trying to send pictures on my text screen, and getting to the line to make a comment is a bear thing. Half the time I get the pictures and it won’t go to the line where I can write a message. Not like it used to be, e.g. easy

I am trying to send 3 pictures and can’t get to the line to send a reply. Hard to do both. Help!!
