Unable to zoom 8x while recording a video on iPhone 17 Pro Max

I have a 17pro max and when I am recording a video starting in 0,5x I can not jump to 8x. I am pretty sure this issue is related to configuration. My wife has the same phone, she does not have this issue

Zoom on camera has changed Since the last iPhone iOS download the zoom operation has changed on the camera. I can no longer go from 1 to 5 smoothly on zoom for video. It stops momentarily on each number which makes the video look jerky when zooming in and out. Have tried hard reset but no good. Any tips ?

Do you and your wife have same settings for HDR, Formats, resolution etc.? It could be that higher resolution and faster frame rates are restricted. Are you shooting ProRes or what exactly?
