Notes app on MacBook Pro crashes after dragging and dropping a PDF

A few days ago I dragged and dropped a pdf into my notes app. The second I did this my app crashes and would do that repeatedly when I opened it again.(I see the preview of the pdf in the notes app for a millisecond though). I tried restarting my computer but that didn't work and also deleting the pdf on my phone as the app is synced however for the split second I see the notes app the pdf is still there on my MacBook. I know it isn't a pdf that contains malware or anything as it was one I took from a school resource.
