iphone 13 Pro back camera not working but works on snapchat/instagram

not sure exactly when this started but i will go to take a picture using the camera app on my iphone and the screen is black. front facing selfie camera works. i go to any social media app (facebook, instagram, snapchat) and the back camera suddenly works. if i soft reset, the camera will start working again but only for a short period of time. i recently updated my phone to IOS 26.0.1 and i got ‘camera not recognized’ alert on my settings page but it has now gone away. i dont know how long im going to be able to stand having to constantly restart my phone so any advice is appreciated!
