Time machine no longer completes backup os is Sequoia

Time machine is stuck at freeing space. It is stuck saying freeing space.

Sounds like you have 1 of 2 problems.

1) The Time Machine backup drive is full.

2) Your MacBook Pro's internal drive is full.


In either case this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.


If the Time Machine backup drive is full..?

Then you need to set the old Time Machine backup drive aside and start new Time Machine backups on a larger external drive. Or optionally, erase the current Time Machine backup drive and start new Time Machine backups.


If your MackBook Pro's internal drive is full...?

Then you need to free up some space on the MacBook Pro's internal drive. To free up some space on the MacBook Pro's internal drive, see > Free up storage space on Mac - Apple Support
