Disabling automatic text message playback for Belltone hearing aids on iPhone

  1. iPhone is on and connected to Belltone hearing aids through 'BeMore' app (see below)
  2. These do not show-up as Bluetooth devices, but do not work if Bluetooth is off
  3. When I get a text message, in addition to notifying me via a tone, they automatically play the entire message.
  4. I do not want the message to be automatically played

Original Title: I have Belltone hearing aids which AUTOMATICALLY play text messages whenever one is received. How can I disable that automatic functionality but don't know what settings to change.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

Hearing Aids, while they are Bluetooth, have their own separate categories and controls. You access the controls at the path below,

iPhone > Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices or something similar, I don’t have my iPhone with me and doing this from memory. Go through the Hearing section of Accessability and you may find the resolution to the issue. I’ll post a follow up when I get a chance to review my iPhone. Good luck !
