Issue with Taptic Engine, can it resolve itself on its own?
Hello. Recently my iPhone 15 started making a different, somewhat louder noise when using haptic functions: it was essentially like a loud "click", whereas the ordinary sound from the Taptic Engine is a more muffled click. It used to occur roughly every other time a haptic function was activated, so for example, when enabling the flashlight from the start screen, it made an off-sounding noise, but when disabling the flashlight, it made the normal sound. This strange noise occurred after I had dropped my phone from a roughly 30 cm height (with a case). However, after a few days, the issue seems to have disappeared, and now it makes the regular sound it made before. I don't know exactly how the Taptic Engine works, but I was wondering if it is possible that the mechanism sort of "self-corrected" after some time (and haptic activations) had passed?
I was considering turning it in for service, as I bought the phone recently and it is thus under warranty. However, if the issue isn't detectable, I have to foot the bill for troubleshooting. So, what should I do here?
Thank you.
