iPhone 13 Pro Max battery health decline after iOS 26 update

Ever since i have upgraded to ios 26 in the iphone 13 pro max. The battery health is constantly dropping. Last month i had 84% battery health and now it is showing 76%. Even though i charge the phone only once in a day. This is not an expected battery drop that should be experienced in any device.

But the fact is, it is declining constantly after ios 26. Before that there were no issues. Even if it replace with the new battery, it will still give the issues.

Your battery is only rated for 500 charge cycles. It makes no difference what iOS version you are using. The drop is not linear, so some months will not drop at all and other months may drop more. Given that, your battery would have far exceeded what would be expected. You now have the choice to replace the battery at a cost of about $99 or purchase an iPhone 14 or newer phone that is rated at 1000 charge cycles.

The fact that your battery has dropped from 84% to 76% in a month is more indicative of a bug or a worn out battery than the iOS 26 update. Regardless - Apple recommends replacing the battery when it is below 80%.

I would recommend visiting an Apple Store, or contacting Apple Support to set up an appointment for a battery replacement.

It probably won't. The battery may have been worn out before the update. The iOS 26 update may have recalculated the battery's health and corrected it. The iPhone 13 Pro was released in 2021, so it's a 3-4 year old phone. It's not unusual for it to be time to replace the battery now.

That said. iOS 26 is a big update, and requires more resources from an older iPhone. It's not unusual for the battery to need to be charged more often in the first few days after an update, until all files are indexed and the update has "fallen into place" - but in your case, it sounds like your battery is just worn out.
