Converting Parallel Virtual Machine to VmWare Fusion 13

Hello everyone,

For over two years, I've been using a Mac mini M2, obviously with a Silicon chip, and for this reason, since I needed to manage Windows virtual machines, I had to install Parallel, which is an excellent product, but the license costs €100 per year. I previously used VMware Fusion, but version 13 is now available, which also works with Silicon chips.

I installed the relevant app, but I can't find the option to convert the Parallel virtual machine to a Fusion virtual Mac. Although the notes don't mention the seven options listed, they aren't available in the menu.

Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

That existing Parallels Windows Guest must be running Windows 11 ARM if that is your macOS hardware architecture.

I imported a Parallels Desktop Pro 26.1.1 Windows 11 Pro (X86_64) (.pvm) guest into VMware Fusion 13.64 on my 2020 iMac. That wasn't enough because when I booted that Windows guest, it told me it was not a supported TPM 2.0 device. After some digging, I clicked on the Hard Disk setting and then Add Device… and selected the Trusted Platform Module. Parallels just took care of this for me, but not VMware…

While in the Settings, click on the Advanced panel and select Enable UEFI Secure Boot. Close the Settings panel and now when you launch the Windows 11 Guest, it will boot normally. I just downloaded the multi-edition 25H2 iso from Microsoft and updated from 24H2.

I migrated Parallels Desktop Pro 26.1.1 onto my M4 Mac Mini Pro. The Windows 11 Pro (ARM) guest is on an external OWC TB5 Envoy Ultra, along with my other macOS {Monterey, Sonoma, Sequoia} and Ubuntu 25.04 (ARM) guests.
