Why do I have to download a separate app to count steps in the watch IOS 26? It's the MAIN reason I purchased an Apple watch and then it starts glitching after I updated to IOS 26 and after resetting it to figure out what was wrong, find out Apple wants to track "movements" and NOT steps. WHY???

I can see my step count on the watch, if I tap on my Stand ring and scroll down to the next screen.

You may be missing the point I made. Yes, clicking on the various Icons can lead me to the steps. What I'm talking specifically about is having it ALWAYS appear on my watch face as a complication. It used to allow me to add the complication to the middle of my watch face. That option is no longer available UNLESS you use a third party app like Pedometer++.
Did you check, if your watch offers a similar complication for Modular watch face/Activity?
