Unable to install new chatgpt browser, app shows up with line across the icon

Hello, I am unable to download the new chatGPT browser because the icon has a line through it. After I drag and drop the icon in Applications, I get an error message when opening up the browser saying application is not supported. Weird because I was able to download the browser on my work macbook with no issues. Work macbook is a macbook air, personal macbook is a macbook pro, both have the latest OS update (tahoe).

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.0

It will only run on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 - M4). I suspect your MacBook Pro is an Intel Mac, so it is not supported by that software. There are no device eligibility checks when downloading software, only when you attempt to run them.

Yep, this is the last supported OS for the Intel Macs from 2019. Apple considers products Vintage from 5-7 years and obsolete beyond 7 years. Next year will be the 7 year mark for those Macs. That does not mean that Tahoe will no longer be Supported for those Macs and based on history, security updates will continue beyond that. For example, just this year macOS 13 (Ventura) received a security update and that was for Macs produced in 2017. That has been the same basic pattern for updates going back for more than a decade.
