l have lost my watch

Apple Watch séries 4, OS9.6.3. I am trying to locate my Watch, but keep going round in circles without getting to the ´map display’. The Watch is enabled for FIND MY WATCH, and it says open in iCloud.com - but what is the next step to locate it on the map? Any help would be very much appreciated.

so, if the Apple Watch in question is able to transmit its current location to Apple's Find My network, your next steps will be:

-> on your iPhone, iPad or MacBook:

open the Find My application, enter the "Devices" tab, and select your Apple Watch for display. It will show its last known location. Make sure you are logged in with the same Apple Account (former Apple ID) as on your Apple Watch.

-> on your Android/Windows/Linux/... device

open icloud.com/find and locate your watch through the web interface. Again, make sure you are logged in with the correct login details.
