Weather App Not Global Anymore

I used to love using the weather app to watch wind and weather patterns around the world. It was intuitive and easy to understand, and most importantly it didn't have any ads, so I've never bothered to install any other weather app. I'd prefer to continue to be able to use it but if this issue doesn't get fixed I'll be forced to swap.

Whenever I try to look at precipitation outside USA, it just shows these diagonal lines over everything else. These lines begin a handful off miles off the border of the country and exist on a few parts inside the country as well. The only other countries that do not have these lines over them are the UK, the more populated areas of Australia, Japan, and the Ryukyu Islands. Even most of Alaska has these lines. I can no longer use the weather app to watch hurricanes or tropical storms brewing. This began in iOS 26, it was never an issue before this. I have an iPhone 15 on iOS 26.0 (23A341). If this is a me problem, I'd love to fix it, just let me know how. If it's an Apple problem, Apple I BEG you to fix it please

I understand it's a user forum, I'm sure Apple employees monitor it, though. I posted here to see if any users had the same issue and if anyone figured out how to fix it.

Apple employees moderate the posts just for compliance with the Terms of Use. As always to let Apple know of any concerns is by using the Feedback link that is monitored by Apple.

Product Feedback - Apple

As Jeff Donald noted, NOAA is one of the sources used by the Weather app and their website currently says it has been shutdown. That would also affect other sources that rely on NOAA data. For example BreezoMeter is another data source used by the Weather app and also relies on NOAA data.

I live in Florida and watch hurricanes closely for about 6 months out of the year now. The Weather app was never a great source of information except locally in my opinion. I use several different apps so I can see the information I need.

However, none are truly free. I suspect as governments cut back on free weather information, the apps are restricting what services they can provide for free. I’ve seen the subscription prices on several of my weather apps increase recently.

Must have been a temporary problem. I am in the Caribbean now and I am seeing Hurricane Melissa cross Jamaica , both on the rain and the wind layers.
