Bug in ios 26.0.1 for IPhone 12

I recently uploaded ios 26.0.1 because it was in my ready to update software. Doing so has resulted in my iPhone 12 camera to malfunction with jittery picture and static. Already tried all the fixes on the Internet, even reinstall. Problem continues. Thanks T.Haines

What you've described sounds like a hardware failure, which coincided with a Software Update. If the update caused this, it would have caused this for everyone, but it most definitely didn't. You have a five year old iPhone and hardware can fail. You need to take the phone to your closest Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and service options. Whether you want to invest money in a repair for your phone is up to you. I'd be more inclined to take whatever it would cost and apply the money to a new iPhone. But only you can make that choice.

iPhone Camera Issue After an Update:

A. "Static"?

Where is the static? Is the camera app all fuzzy-looking, or rs there static in the app's audio?

B. Hardware or Software Issue?:

Does this occur when you record videos and then play them in the photos app? If so, then it is an issue with the camera. If not, then it is a software issue.

C. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Thank you for your guidance. I have reported this to Apple. The static is just that, it sounds as though I’m on a very distorted a.m. radio and there is heavy cackling (quite loud). When it does cackle, which is all the time it is open, the screen view on the front camera shakes and goes in and out of focus and it looks like and sounds like an overload of some sort.
