You told us in your profile that you had an iPhone 13. Is that correct? The iPhone 13 was discontinued by Apple in September 2023, so your phone is really more than 2 years old, probably older.

Did you buy a used phone? If the phone really was "new", it sat in a warehouse somewhere for 2+ years. That would not have been good for the battery.

During normal operation, the battery in the iPhone 13 will decline.....on average over time....about 1% per month. Some months, it might not decline at all then drop 2% the next month. That's normal. It's been about 5-6 months since you purchased the "new" phone.

Even if you really did buy a "new" phone, and the battery was at 100% in April 2025, the battery would normally be at about 94-95% at this time. That's normal.

All that you really need to do is remember to enable Optimized Battery Charging and replace the battery when it drops under 80% Maximum Capacity.

i bought my phone from apple flagship store, i did my research and it said that they’re an authorized reseller of Apple

Apple does not sell phones that were discontinued over 2 years ago and they don't even sell refurbished iPhone 13's on their website. Did you find the reseller using the link provided titled "Find Locations"? In any case, an iPhone 13 operating on the original battery showing a Battery Health of 94% is excellent. The phone is obviously not "new" and degradation of the battery occurs over time whether it is used or not. Once it drops below 80%, it will be time for a replacement.

When it's Time for a New Battery:

Your iPhone battery has degraded, but you are fine for now.  Apple recommends you get a new battery when the Battery Health reaches 80% or lower. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine why, nor what, the Battery Health degraded.

Where to get a New Battery:

Getting a New iPhone Battery:

Contact Apple, and setup a Genius Bar Appointment or see an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area. Be wary as to where you get this item, ask you may get an error of an ungenuine battery. So, to avoid a continual message, it is best to have an Apple or an AASP replace the battery. So, where to get a new battery:

A. Apple Contact Info:

B. Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the battery

My iPhone is a 13 Pro Max, and it is at 95% --quite surprising in the least, IMO. Optimized Battery Charging is a great point, and is something I use --thanks for that.
