Last month my mother got me a new iPhone 16e and trust me it’s a really nice phone but I don’t want it. All the other 16 products are able to be traded. It doesn’t have the new island bar for whatever reason😐, and no 0.5. How come I can’t trade it there is no logical reason why sell the phone but not take it back in??

The 16e is currently being sold by Apple and as such not eligible for trade in.
Apple only accepts trade-ins for discontinued models, or models that have been superseded by other models.
The 16e has not been superseded by any other model.
You'll need to sell it privately and buy whatever other model you want.

The 16e features the new C1 cellular modem chip not available in other models which improves cell reception and lowers battery usage.
The only comparable option is the iPhone 17 air with the C1x chip an improved version with better power management options.

In addition to the feature differences outlined in Apple's comparison chart, the 16e does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode. So you can't use Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter or a third-party USB-C display adapter to make a cabled connection from an iPhone 16e to a TV or monitor.
