Battery drain with ios 26 ( 26.0.1) on Iphone 16 Pro with battery health at 100%

Hi to all ,

since I updated to ios 26 , my Iphone It doesn't even last half a day, I always have to recharge it and it was a huge pain during my trip to Tromso recently. I often had to use the Magsafe power bank, but it often gets hot and stops charging. How on earth is this possible on a one-year-old iPhone with a battery that is 100% healthy? I understand that AI can have an impact, but it's so bad that it's worth disabling it. Anyone else having these problems?

Thanks

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26

Instagram is having issues to say the least. In the last 4 weeks they’ve released 13 updates. Every update is performance stability and optimization.

I really don’t think AI is an issue. But if you prefer it off for now, no worries.

It’s odd Apple Maps is consuming so much. Are you using the Maps Widget? If so, please delete the widget and reinstall and see if that improves battery life. Or just delete the widget for now.

I performed all the tests recommended online except for the factory reset, because I have too many work apps and I don't want to have to reinstall everything from scratch. Now I've downloaded the RC of iOS 26.1 and it seems that the keyboard is working fine again, while I'll have to wait a few days to see if the battery has improved. The apps that consume the most power are Apple Maps and Instagram, which I've been using a lot these days in Norway. I also did a soft reset, but it didn't solve the problem with iOS 26.0.1.
