Thunderbird Menu Bar Icon Missing

Mozilla Thunderbird provides a Menu Bar icon in the upper right as a badge that shows unread messages. I accidentally removed this button by dragging it off the bar, and cannot get it back.

I tried uninstalling (deleting Thunderbird preferences files) & reinstalling, but it will not show in the toolbar and does not show in System Settings>MenuBar>Allow in the Menu Bar (it showed there before it was removed).

I also tried deleting apple.systemuiserver.plist and rebooting, but no luck.

I am on a Macbook Air M4 with Tahoe 26.0.1. Any help is greatly appreciated.

for your third party —if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

see if this is it(?)

Thunderbird, go to View > Toolbars in the main menu, and then select Customize Toolbar to drag and drop items you want to add or remove.
