Remove widgets from macOS Tahoe desktop

So I just updated to the new macOS Tahoe and I hate it. There are three apps on my home screen (Whether, calendar, and app usage). I do not what this on my Home Screen. Someone please help me to get this off my home screen.

Those are widgets that Tahoe adds by default. Secondary-click (control-click, two-finger click) on the Desktop, select Edit Widgets then click the little (–) icon at the top left of each of the widgets.

If in doubt use the search feature, poke around, make some changes, compare your results...


Turn off Widgets .

Note that unchecking the boxes to Show Widgets does not actually turn them off. They will still be revealed by showing the desktop (with a click on the wallpaper, trackpad finger spread, etc.). More importantly, those invisible widgets will still take up space on the desktop and preclude files/folders from being placed there, even though they appear to be gone.
