How to get rid of the bar above the keyboard on iOS 26

If you tap on the checkmark, it should disappear. It looks like you are using the Google Chrome app, try looking into that app's settings to see if it can be disabled. The bar is less disruptive in Safari as it is built into the iPhone's keyboard.

It is here to stay, enjoy it.

I've tried playing around with it a bit. The bar disappears when you switch from Bottom to Compact in Settings > Apps > Safari, but just comes back when Safari is restarted. So this is not a solution.

Unfortunately I don't think it can be changed - if you look at iOS 18, the bar is still there, here it's just baked into the keyboard, and not floating in a bubble above the keyboard. It's simply part of the iOS 26 design. Whether you like it or not.

A setting that could make the bar merge with the keyboard, which in previous iOS versions would be welcome.
