How do I stop this “rainwater sound” while iPhone 8+is not in use
I tapped on a selection of water sounds to play while this iPhone is not in use and now don’t know how to turn it off. Please help.

Try Settings > Accessibility > Audio and Visual > Background Sounds and turn that off.
Note that if you want easier access in the future to toggle this feature, you can add it as a control in the Control Center. To do so search for Background Sounds when adding a control.
