Camera control button wont launch camera

The Camera Control button works perfectly on my iPhone. Since you can't get yours to work, I'd schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple test the button for you.

Also, perhaps a dumb question, but believe it or not, some people were under the impression the Camera Control button is above the volume buttons. That is actually, the Action Button. The Camera Capture button is below the side power button.

In Settings > Camera > Camera Control:

1. Is Camera Selected?
2. Is Single or Double Clip checked?
3. Do you have Require Screen On for Camera Control to be enabled?

Are trying to launch from Lock Screen or Home Screen?
