Vertical stripes in Finder icon after macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 update

The problem was already present in the "Finder icon has vertical stripes after Sequoia 15.2 (24C101) update" version, so why is it happening again??

I had a problem similar to Skoda774 but mine was with Vertical Stripes through the Macintosh HD icon immediately after upgrading from Sequoia 15.7.1 to 15.7.2 - I also tried that "Start Up in Safe Mode" advice - when I did it, yes the problem disappeared in Safe Mode. I then shutdown and rebooted in my normal name and it was correct again too. I thought the problem was solved but next day when I booted up and logged in again the Vertical Stripes returned in the Macintosh HD icon. I did not find Apple very helpful in this regard if I am honest, and this is probably the first time I felt that way re Apple. Around that time I discovered elsewhere that my Intel based iMac Pro won't take macOS Tahoe and I get a distinct feeling of abandonment. For what it is worth I happened on something myself which for the past week (touch wood) seems to have cured my problem of Vertical Stripes in HD icon. I have been using a Dynamic Wallpaper for a long time now (Utah Evening) through several upgrades. It appears to me the Sequoia 15.7.2 is not properly able to render this icon (perhaps more) when the Dynamic Wallpaper is launched on startup. I changed my background to a simple plain colour and the Macintosh icon is rendering perfectly without Vertical Stripes for over a week now on every boot up and every re-start I might have taken in that time. Next step for me is to try a JPG background - I suspect it might work - because it is not a Dynamic Wallpaper which can "move".

I experience the same issue on the iMacPro on Sequoia 15.7.2. Dock Finder icon and Macintosh HD Desktop icon with stripes. Icons look ok in Safe Mode. They problem looks fixed by deleting the cache and make the system rebuild them, but at the following reboot stripes are back. I am not using dynamic background, just a jpg photo.

As additional information, I can say the dock Finder icon rendering is ok by forcing to a big from the Dock slider in the system options, but sliding back to a more normal size, stripes get back.

Since I posted on Nov 22 last .... I've been onto Apple about other problems going back to early 2025 with the system crashing on startup .... When it started the next crash happened 11 days later , then 83 days later, then 53 days later, then a couple more a few days apart. I had saved all those crash reports and put them on a PDF and sent them to Apple. I did get a support call back and they got me to boot up in a special Diagnostic mode and run some tests under their direction. Those tests showed there was nothing wrong with the hardware on my iMac Pro and therefore there must be a glitch in the system software (the process called WATCHDOG is always referenced in the crashes which Apple said pointed to software time outs in the system OS) . I now face a total re-installation of the Sequoia OS which they will talk me through when I want (probably leave it until early January to get year end out of the way) and then they will also help me transition the data back from Time Machine backups. Somehow I think it might be a lot longer to put it back the way it was. As regards the original issue of Stripes on HD icon, I did get the problem back one day when I was using a JPG background and I changed it to plain colour again and no repeats so far since. Apple are of the opinion that the total OS re-installation will cure a lot of small software glitches I might have in my current system. Let's hope so.
