Keyword Manager window in Photos won't open

When using photos Mac on system 13.7 when I want to open keyword manager all I get is a spinning ball. after spinning for a while it stops but keyword manager window does not open.

I've repaired my photo library and restarted with no luck.

I have opened one of my other photo libraries and keyword manager will open, it just won't open in my primary library.

It sure sounds like it's the Library, doesn't it? Sometimes doing a re-build a second time works. Are you using iCloud Photos? If so, you might try turning wifi off during the re-build.

Otherwise, try re-starting in Safe Mode. This bypasses certain potentially disruptive processes, and it often helps. Safe Mode is different for different computers, so see this:

Another thing to try is to make a new user and see if the same problem recurs with it.  This is a bit harder, because a new user can't access a different user's stuff. You would need to move your Library out of your own user's folder up to the general "Users" folder so you can open it from the new user you create.

The only thing I can think to do to save the Library is to use the trusted 3rd party app PowerPhotos ($40.) If you have 10 Libraries, this app is indispensable. You can, for instance, search through all your Libraries at once. It does lots more great stuff. PowerPhotos is always open when I'm using Photos. The thing we use if for most is to copy pictures from one Library to another-- PowerPhotos will copy the pictures with their albums and folders, properly updating the database and maintaining the organization structure.

So you could make a new empty Library and use PowerPhotos to copy the old Library into it. It should (I hope) clean up database corruptions in the process.

I tried all the suggestions with no Luck. The only thing that worked kind of was recovering an earlier version of library with Time Machine. After going through the process and opening the recovered library keyword manager would open like normal. The problem that occurred was after adding new keywords to a photo the next time I tried to open keyword manager I was back at square one. The window would appear but there was nothing there. It was transparent and you could see the edges of the window.

Everything else works fine. I just cannot edit keywords. I can add or delete them in the photo info page but that is about it.

My other 10 photo libraries all work fine.
