So I go read some japanese work and use google for the majority of my reading. Every time I do that, I get the Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. Please try your request again later. why did this happen message. I use an ipad pro gen 4 and I want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. Do you have any advice or idea on why this happen?

You're not alone. There have been multiple reports of something similar occurring with other users; this is highly unlikely to be related to malware.
As a diagnostic exercise, if you are using Apple's Private Relay Service, disable this feature:
Settings > [Your Name / Apple Account] > iCloud > [iCloud+ Features] Private Relay > Private Relay - set to OFF
