ios and the system data are taking more than 50% space in my phone (out of 128GB) after updated it to ios 26.1. It shows no more storage and its tough to use my phone now with camera being useless. Is there a solution or does this mean I have to change the phone.

This often means you have some corrupt data in System Data. The way to fix this is to backup your iPhone, then restore it from backup and System Data will return to a more normal level.

Same here. I had like 5gb free, 2days ago after the update. Now my iPhone its full and I didt download anything!
looks to me like the same issue Windows had couple of years ago. Where didnt matter How much space you cleared from your PC, windows fill it up in a few days with cache files or whatever.
Pareil ici. iPad Air 5 64Go et la moitié est prise par l’OS et le système depuis 26.1… j’ai restoré mon iPad 4 fois (iTunes, iCloud etc..) le problème subsite . Apple help !!! 50% de l’iPad inutilisable
Comme je l’ai expliqué dans mon message, la restauration de quelque façon que se soit ne résout absolument pas le problème : j’ai toujours presque 13Go iPadOS et presque 16Go de données système sur un iPad de 64Go… et les manipulations de calendrier pour purger ne sont que temporaire (en plus d’être une honte).
