My Display keeps turning off whenever i am on the lock scree

whenever my macbook goes to the lock screen, the display turns off less than a second later instead of activating the screensaver.


initially, my first thought was low power mode had something to do with it, but even when i turned it off, its still happening.


i'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a way to keep that from happening?

The lock screen and screensaver are not the same thing.


You activate the lock screen by pressing Command-Control-Q or selecting Lock Screen from the Apple menu.


Screensaver activates when the set idle time is reached, or it can activated with a hot corner.


Check your settings in (at least) two places:


1) Go to System Settings->Wallpaper, click Screen Saver...

and select the desired time next to Start Screen Saver...



2) Go to System Settings->Lock Screen, check those settings and adjust as desired:
