Wi-Fi Calling stops receiving calls — all incoming go straight to voicemail
I’ve been dealing with a recurring problem on my iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS 26.0.1). For weeks, all incoming calls while on Wi-Fi Calling were going straight to voicemail with no ring and no entry in Recents, even though Wi-Fi signal and internet connection were strong. Outgoing calls always worked normally, and toggling Airplane Mode or Wi-Fi Calling would restore service for a short time.
I’ve tested this extensively with both AT&T and Verizon on a stable UniFi network and confirmed that all the required ports are open. The same failure occurs on both carriers, so it doesn’t appear to be a carrier or network issue. It seems the phone quietly drops its Wi-Fi Calling registration and doesn’t renew it until something forces a reconnect.
Has anyone else been seeing the same behavior on recent iOS builds? If Apple is aware of this or has any guidance, I’d appreciate an update. Reliable Wi-Fi Calling is essential in areas with poor signal, and right now it’s not dependable even on a solid connection.
