Is this green shadow normal
Whenever I take photo of a light source on my iPhone 17 a prominent green shadow appears. This doesn’t happen in ultra wide lens. Is this normal?

It certainly can be. It is actually lens flare caused by the light strip above the curtains. Before you took the photo, the lens flare would have been plainly seen on your screen. Had you angled the camera differently, you could have reduced or completely removed the flare. You have more control than you think, but it takes looking at your screen and then making corrective actions before taking the photo.
Here is a good example:
In this photo, you can see lens flare (the green dots above the lights) of the holiday lights on my deck (purposely taken to demonstrate this):
In this photo, I angled the camera relative to the lights, without moving my position and you can see the flares were completely eliminated:

That's not a shadow, it's lens flare and yes, it's perfectly normal.

Is it usually this prominent?
