Issue with importing photos from an SD card reader onto my late 2024 Apple iMac. Why are new photos from an SD card in my Lexar 3.0 USB SD card reader suddenly not importing into ‘Imports’ within my chosen photo library on my 2024 Apple iMac? Unable to transfer photos from Canon DSLR to Photos on macOS 15.6.1 I have recently taken my DSLR out of the case and used it for the first time in a couple of years. However I am now unable to transfer the files from the camera to my Photos on my Mac. The Mac does not 'see' the device as far as I can tell. The Canon website states that there is no utility available for Sequoia 15.6.1. "This software is not supported with the operating system selected and is not available for download." On 'Chat' with Canon it was stated that "... unfortunately, this matter requires deeper investigation ..." Is the only answer for me to get a Card Reader, and will this definitely work? Here's what I use:

That was $17, and it works well. Since you have a MacAir which has no SD card port, you may want to get a reader that has both, though those seem to cost twice as much or more.

The card appears as a drive, and I drag the files to my Mac so I can save them on an archive, and iI then drag them from the Finder to Photos.
